Frequently asked questions
What teams usually ask first.
Does PipePilot support batch as well as CDC?
Yes. PipePilot supports scheduled or manual full and incremental batch pipelines alongside near-real-time CDC pipelines. Availability depends on the selected source, destination and execution environment.
How does incremental loading work?
An incremental table uses a selected watermark to find changed source rows and merge keys to apply them safely. The first run creates a full baseline; later runs advance the checkpoint only after the destination write succeeds.
How are migrations handled?
A migration is a separate one-time data-copy workflow. You choose supported source and destination connections, then explicitly map schemas or datasets and tables. Destination support is released only after its ownership, retry and write safeguards are verified.
Where do Private Agents run?
Private Agents run on a customer-supplied Linux host that can reach the selected source and destination. The Agent makes outbound control-plane connections; batch records and runtime credentials stay in the customer runtime during execution.
What happens when a pipeline fails?
PipePilot keeps run and task evidence, protects unpublished full-load staging, and exposes retry, cancellation or recovery actions when the recorded state makes them safe.
How does PipePilot work with Snowflake and BigQuery?
PipePilot supports Snowflake batch destinations and selected source workflows, plus Snowflake CDC landing. BigQuery supports hosted table-mode batch source and full or incremental destination workflows. Raw CDC landing is available only when that integration is enabled.
